Court Interpreter

Interpreter Skills Training Available

The Berks County Bar Association works to encourage the recruitment and training of certified interpreters for use by the court system and by private attorneys.

For the past several years, the Bar Association has offered an interpreting skills training program for individuals in the process of becoming a court interpreter. The training program consists of 14 training sessions held during evening hours in the greater Reading area. Classes typically are held in the fall and are tailored to prepare candidates for the Oral Proficiency Exams administered by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC).

Candidates can learn more about the process of becoming either a certified or qualified court interpreter by visiting the AOPC website.

Candidates who have completed the AOPC orientation sessions and are interested in discussing their qualifications for the rigorous training program should contact the Berks County Bar Association at 610-375-4591 ext. 1.
