Berks lawyers have weighed in on the qualifications of the three candidates competing in the primary election to fill two vacant Berks County Court judgeships.

The Berks County Bar Association recently conducted a poll of its 518 active members regarding the candidates, each of whom also practices in Berks. A total of 267 of the members submitted responses, according to association Executive Director Kori Walter.

Members were asked to place the candidates in one of three categories: highly recommended, recommended or not recommended at this time.

Wyomissing attorney Jill Scheidt received the most highly recommended votes, with 70% of those who responded placing her in the top category.

Coming in a close second was Assistant District Attorney Justin Bodor of Oley Township with 67%, followed by Exeter Township attorney Kurt Geishauser at 19%.
