Berks lawyers rate 3 judicial candidates in bar association poll

Berks lawyers have weighed in on the qualifications of the three candidates competing in the primary election to fill two vacant Berks County Court judgeships.

The Berks County Bar Association recently conducted a poll of its 518 active members regarding the candidates, each of whom also practices in Berks. A total of 267 of the members submitted responses, according to association Executive Director Kori Walter.

The Berks County Bar Association released on Tuesday the results of a poll, which asked members to rate the three candidates competing in the May 16 primary for nominations to serve as a Berks County Court of Common Pleas judge.

Judge M. Theresa Johnson was chosen unanimously by fellow Berks judges.

Berks County Bar Association President Gabriela Raful congratulated the Hon. M. Theresa Johnson on Thursday for making history as Berks County’s first female President Judge.

The Berks County Court of Common Pleas has made the following changes to Family Court case assignments, effective January 3, 2023.

President Judge Thomas G. Parisi issued an Administrative Order increasing the assessment of the Crime Victim Services and Compensation Act fees to a total of $100.
